Hey Friends! We are Child’s Pose founders Jess and Danielle, and we are excited to share with you a little more about our company, the classes we teach, and our studio!
How It Started
We met in 2014 while working together in the early childhood education world, and quickly realized that we shared a huge love of yoga and working with kiddos! For the next 3 years, we spent our days together teaching little ones, and free time discussing all things yoga.
It didn’t take long for us to realize that combining our passions to share the magic of yoga with kiddos and adults alike was the DREAM! In hopes of making the dream a reality, we set off on a years-long journey that led us to different parts of the world, into new and updated certifications, through countless brainstorming sessions, and LOTS of soul searching.
And just like that, Child’s Pose was born!
Yoga for Everyone
One of our biggest goals in opening Child’s Pose was to strip away all of the trendy, exclusive, expensive, unnecessary factors that keep so many of us from wanting to go to a yoga class. When you walk into the Child’s Pose, you enter a space free from judgement. You don’t need the right mat, the newest yoga outfit, you don’t need to know the Sanskrit name for every pose, or even know how to do yoga at all. We thrive on the idea of community, acceptance, and meeting everyone right where they are. So, whether you’re brand new to yoga or have been practicing your whole life, Child’s Pose is always available to you.
The Kids Classes
Our kids yoga and mindfulness classes are the heartbeat of what we do at Child’s Pose! Each class is specifically curated to deliver an engaging and joyful mix of movement, mindful lessons, and connection.
Our program was developed over a five year period of research, and draws from our yoga teacher and early childhood education certifications as well as our deep rooted passion for the yoga lifestyle and our decade of experience working with kids and young adults. We both find so much joy in working with kiddos, and we are absolutely thrilled to share these special classes with the community!
The Studio
After a year of teaching in backyards, friend’s studios, and pretty much any space we could borrow, we knew it was time to find a permanent home for Child’s Pose. Once we found the space, we set to work on turning it into our dream home. Four short weeks and a LOT of help and hard work later, we were ready to open our doors to the community! We cannot wait to share the finished studio with you!
